County High School has been awarded the prestigious Eco School Green Flag with merit after an amazing first year with our Eco Committee.
Operated globally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), and in the UK by the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award is an international accreditation scheme that has been highlighting and rewarding young people’s environmental actions for more than 25 years.
From a range of ten themes provided by the Eco-Schools scheme, the Eco Committee chose to work on three core areas:
- Biodiversity
- Litter and waste
- School grounds
This choice was based on a school-wide environmental review, conducted to identify opportunities for action.
We are all incredibly proud of the members of our Eco-Committee and we look forward to supporting them every step of the way!
